Value
"We feel that Titan is doing the work of at least one person, so there is more than justification there."
Insights
"We can now see the true profitability of the departments and have accurate management of our inventory."
Growth
"We believe it will allow us to grow and become more profitable, which is the ultimate goal, as we now have a better understanding of costs across the business.
JCB integration will get more demanding (the Livelink project for example) and if Titan stays up to date, we can only benefit.
Support
"Titan have helped a lot, especially in the early days when we had business critical issues.
Didn’t matter what time of day it was, or even if it was at the weekend, and 6 months later that has continued."
Why change DMS?
We were a used machine business so we didn’t have an existing DMS.
When we officially joined the JCB network, a mandatory part of the OEM standards was to make sure we had a compliant DMS.
How did you first hear about Titan?
We went to market and had a look at what was available. We got lots of information back and had a few chats but there seemed to be a distinct lack of flexibility with other suppliers.
We reached out to the JCB network and James Richardson from Greenshields put us in touch with Titan, and it went from there.
From our initial conversations, we gained confidence that Titan could be flexible, knew how JCB worked, and that the price quoted was value for money.
What made you choose Titan DMS over other products on the market?
There were several things we liked. Titan’s system flexibility, JCB knowledge, and JCB integrations all aligned with what we wanted. There was a good proposal on the table cost-wise and it also felt more like we were entering into a partnership, which would help us greatly as a small business.
How did Titan approach the initial consultation for the changeover?
Titan staff came and did an initial demo of the system and we had a long chat about all aspects of the system and how the partnership would work. They then came on site for a scope and filled out scoping documents with us.

How would you describe the training provided by Titan up to go-live?
Titan delivered a number of one-to-one courses with staff members that were bespoke to each individual and how we worked.
How did Titan manage the 'go-live' in your dealership?
Titan staff were onsite for 2 weeks to oversee the live implementation. We broke the days down into bite size chunks, starting off with business imperatives like being able to invoice, and then went a bit more indepth into what the system can offer.
On day one, we ensured that the business was operating properly and work was flowing through the system.
Did Titan deliver your new DMS on time and on budget?
Yes.
Was the transition to Titan straightforward and trouble-free?
Because we had no previous DMS, the transition went very well. We had a successful migration of data such as contacts, machine stock, assets, and the trial balance.
How would you describe the support provided by Titan after 'go-live'?
Titan have helped a lot, especially in the early days when we had business critical issues. Didn’t matter what time of day it was, or even if it was at the weekend, and 6 months later that has continued.
We have direct contact via phone/email and a dedicated WhatsApp group, and we certainly do not feel abandoned.
How soon after the Titan implementation did you notice improvement in your departments'?
We were told that it would take a few months for a DMS to properly settle in and we are now starting to see the benefits of that.
We were essentially starting a brand new business with a full franchise. We could see a real-time visibility of our business more or less straight away.
Can you provide examples of improvements to your business due to Titan DMS?
SALES - Very similar to Service, we can now see the true profitability of the department and have accurate management of our inventory.
SERVICE - We can now see a true cost of the workshop with all the engineer timings and parts and everything that goes into the job, and we can report on it all. We can also now see the profitability of the department enabling us to make true business decisions.
PARTS - As mentioned above, we had no previous DMS so actually having an exact idea of what parts we had in stock, their value, and movement as well as being able to report on them was nigh on impossible. We now have full visibility across the department.
FINANCE - The true costings across all departments. This lets us see live profitability enabling us to make better business decisions.
Using only three words, how would you describe the Titan DMS product?
Flexible, Real-time, and Insightful.
Given what you know now, would you still have made the change to Titan DMS?
Yes.
What advice would you give to dealerships not on Titan DMS?
Titan does what it says on the tin. A flexible, compliant system that is being constantly modified and updated to keep us aligned with the JCB network.
What is the overall mark you would give to Titan?
8 out of 10.
Thanks for the feedback, James and Ed.
