Peter recently joined the Titan DMS team as Business Development Manager (for NSW, ACT, QLD, and NT), bringing a strong background in automotive sales, finance and relationship management.
To find out a little more about him, we asked our "Get to know..." questions and here's what he said!
Who are you?
Hello, I'm Peter. I'm originally from Lebanon and came to Australia in 2019 to complete my masters in project management. Unfortunately, just a few weeks after I arrived there was a revolution and economic crisis in Lebanon which changed my circumstances significantly. Soon after that, Covid hit us, so travel was disrupted and that was a very challenging time with visa's and living arrangements. A real double-whammy, and certainly a scary situation, but looking back now lots of good things have come out of it and I'm very happy how it's all ended up.
What do you do?
I’m the Business Development Manager for NSW, ACT, QLD, and NT. My role is to work closely with dealers, understand their business needs, and help them get the most value from Titan’s products and services. That suits me well because I enjoy building relationships, and feeling like I can help people achieve good outcomes.
What do you love most about your profession?
Working with people and supporting growth. Every dealership is different, so there’s always something new to learn and a new challenge to solve.
What do you most like about working for Titan?
So far, it's been the people and the culture. From day one, everyone has been welcoming, supportive, and willing to help. It’s also nice to be part of a company that seems focused on innovation and actually helping their customers succeed.
What’s the best piece of advice you have for anyone in your profession?
Always put people first. Listen, ask questions, and take the time to understand someone’s challenges before offering a solution. Relationships are built on trust, and when you genuinely care about helping others succeed, the results usually follow.
What did you want to be when you were growing up?
I wanted to be a musician. I’ve always loved music and although my career took me into the automotive industry, music is still something I’m passionate about and enjoy in my free time.
I probably need to confess at this point that I can't actually play any instruments, so I'm not sure how I was going to manage that ambition! I do own four or five guitars and a few keyboards which must make this all seem a bit strange. I don't know what it is - I really like them, just can't play them.
What is your superpower?
My friends would say that I'm very resilient. I don't like to give up (and whenever that looks like a possibility I just say I'm taking a long break!).
What are we likely to find you doing outside work?
I love a long drive, reading a good book, going for a walk, or catching up with friends for a glass of wine. I also enjoy trying new restaurants and making the most of Australia’s great outdoors.
Can you share a recent success story that really made your day?
During my time at Toyota when our enquiry numbers were lower than expected. I worked with our finance team to identify customers whose finance agreements were due to end within a set period of time and we created a very specific re-engagement plan that we shared across the sales team.
It was really successful, we finished the month with a strong result, and it was a satisfying identify/plan/execute type of contained project that I enjoyed.
Tell us a book we should read, a film we should watch, and a podcast we should listen to.
Book: Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself by Dr. Joe Dispenza. It offers an interesting perspective on mindset, personal growth, and how changing the way we think can help us create positive change in our lives.
Film: I know it's not a film, but the thing I always go back to and never get tired of is the original Top Gear with Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May. I’ve watched it countless times and it’s the perfect mix of cars, adventure, and humour.
Podcast: I’m more of a music person than a podcast listener but I do listen to The Diary of a CEO (along with half the planet it seems) it great to get such close contact with fascinating people from all walks of life.
In three words, sum up what makes a great team.
Driven. Approachable. Resilient.
Thanks Peter!
